The Studies Done in Amasya about Conservating
Beyond the local authorities are being guided positively in the continual
conservation period, its being legal organized of common formation of the
local authority and the sensibility of civilians has formed the reached
point in Amasya. This action plan has been realized at the end of the works
which different methods and practices have been experienced as its being
argued the local-civil approaches and the participation of people is added
to this period.
The chronological order of the coverage of the work;
1. The conservation in Amasya has speeded up with taking the decision
of conservation law dated 15.05.1998 about the Project of restoration of 46
of the Ottaman Houses along the river side belong to the late Ottaman Period
on the Yeşilırmak city wall and having been made the appointment of the
conservation group. In the period of this work a group with 12 people
graduated from Profession High school were trained for the restoration
Project and these people are still working in conservating in many places of
Turkiye.
2. The local authority(the governorship and the municipality)has come
together with civilians and with the assistance of CEKUL cognizant and
architect organization have stepped the first organizational step in order
to encourage the conservation in the city.The weekly meeting has been held
by the Amasya Tourism Association which was established for this aim in
1993. All the member of the board of directors are civil. Tthere are also
volunteered members from different civil and local units according to their
interest with the governor leads.The Ottaman houses along the River Side
Project revealed in these meetings, so YABEP (the conservation of the Otaman
houses along the riverside ) was constituted in 12th January,1994, by the
help of the press the citizens' appropriation the project.
Moreover the study of architecture and town planning; the aim of YABEP (the
conservation of the Otaman houses along the riverside) is to gather the all
officials and civil institutions with technical information and sensibilty,
to make continuing this common responsibilty of conservation combining with
authority and experience.
3. With the association of Tourism Association, Amasya Governership,
Amasya Municipality,Amasya Architects Organization, English Archeological
Institute, "the Traditional Ottaman Houses and the Architect of the
Buildings" symposium was organized by the participation of 27 scientists from 6
countries in 1996.
4. On the way of realizing the aim of YABEP; with the association of
the governership, the municipality and civilians AKTAV (Amasya the
Conservation of Culture and Natural Existence cognizant) was established.Gathering
the power and authority of civil and local management, the cognizant is a
legal association to solve the problems of the continuity of city identity
with civilians whom take the responsibilty together.
