Conservation Activities in Amasya

Amasya is a city where many civilizations had lived and established on 7500 years historical inheritance combines the past and future with its geographical location, natural beauties, the cultural values coming from past , balanced and hormonious society structure.Because of these features it is different from the other cities.

It has a lot of important culture wealth and looks like an open-air museum. We can easily meet the prints of civilizations in order Hittite, Kimmer, İskit, Med, Pers, Pontus, Rome, Byzantium, Seljuk and Ottamans. They take place while the city has been turning into a museum city during the time. The castle which was constructed on Harsena Mount, Ferhat’s water canal, Tombs of Pontic Kings, Bimarhane(Darüşşifa), Otoman Houses along the Yesilırmak river, Büyükağa Medresesi (Moslem teological school), Çilehane Mosque, Beyazıd Külliyesi are just some of the examples.

Since Amasya is a historical, cultural, art and tourism city, we have to protect the whole of Amasya's historical inheritance and transfer its beauties to the new generations by protecting its origin. Because of this our governorship's first objective is to take necessary measures with the dynamics of the society.
