History

It was a settlement the history of which reach as far as 5000 BC. While it was Yemişen Bükü village that depended on Erbaa(a town of Tokat),it became a town with the decision numbered 4448 and dated as 04.08.1944 of Council of Ministers. It was separated from Tokat in 1953 and became a town of Amasya.
