History
It was called as Arguma (Sulakyurt) in the first years of the Christ brith
then it became a town and took the name "Suluca". It was called as "Suluova"
in 1946.
The history of Suluova dates from 2000 BC. According to the documents which
were found during an excauation in Kümbettepe; in Doğukent district, the
history of town connected with Kalkolotik age and the period of Hittite.
It went over the management of Turks at the period of Seljukian then it
went over the management of Ottoman Empire in 1386.
Town centre has rich lignite mines. It has made a great development by the
help of the construction of sugerbeet factory. Suluova became a town in
1957.
